Ayurvedic Perspective on Cancer

In Ayurveda, cancer is understood as a tridoshic disease involving an imbalance of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas. Ayurvedic concepts related to cancer include:

  1. Tridosh Sanghat: Cancer involves all three doshas, similar to Granthi (gland) or Arbuda (tumor).
  2. Visarpa: The spread of cancer resembles Visarpa, correlating with metastatic stages.
  3. Aam (Toxic Metabolites): Accumulation of Aam leads to toxic build-up, promoting tumor growth.
  4. Saman Vayu and Grahani: Disturbances in digestion and metabolism at the cellular level contribute to cancer.
  5. Strotas Dushti: Imbalances in the body's channels, particularly Manasavaha Strotas (muscular and skin systems), play a role.
  6. Samanya–Vishesh: Consuming artificially enhanced foods can increase abnormal cell growth.
